Political Moderates
Moderates are arguably the biggest body of voters with the most popular causes that can be agreed on to implement policy. Although pundits constantly referring to the Moderate part of the Democratic Party or Moderate part of the Republican Party, Moderates have never really been successfully organized as such. WE Staunch Moderates are doing just that! Join us! Follow us. Go to http://StaunchModerates.org to learn more.

We are to evaluate, negotiate, compromise, and decide into a moderate (most fair) policy and administration as humanly possible. This is who we Americans are! Staunch Moderates Movement
We are to address each other and strangers with thoughtfulness and moderation instead of with the self-centered extremism that dominates political discourse and significantly human behavior. We should ask ourselves how we act out and if it’s truly necessary for our own or greater good? What can we do to not act out? Follow us & go to http://StaunchModerates.org to learn more.

The Divide!
Are we de-escalating now, with COVID-19 and perhaps President Trump's living amends?
Coronavirus!
How is it effecting your lifestyle? What is the best protocol to stay safe & sane? How will it affect the 2020 Presidential Election?
The Right to Life vs The Right to Choose
This will continue to be a hot-button issue for the 2020 election. Codify Roe vs Wade? Litmus test for future Supreme Court justices? Late stage regulation? What’s the common ground to move us forward?
Politics + COVID-19
Is the President doing enough to fight this pandemic? Did he act early enough? Is he succeeding at finding common ground to conquer this global threat? Polls suggest a majority of the U.S. approves of his response. Do you? This is the latest polarizing debate fueling our political divide and could very well decide who will be occupying the White House in 2021. Pandemic Politics
Who will be on the ballot come November to contest President Trump? For all intents and purposes it was looking like Joe Biden, but has he lost his footing not being able to draw the spotlight away from the President’s daily crisis briefings and fellow Democratic leaders like NY governor Andrew Cuomo? Is Bernie Sanders going to make a comeback having championed much of what the $2 trillion stimulus package is going to provide for Americans? Let’s debate! COVID-19 & The Election
Now that it looks like Trump vs. Biden come November, how much will the pandemic affect the election? Will opinions on Trump’s crisis management and leadership (positive or negative) over-influence voters’ decision? Do you think Biden is doing enough to convince voters that he could have successfully handled it? Let us know your thoughts! Time to Re-Open?
There are a lot of protests happening right now around the country demanding that states start to re-open the economy, and a few states have already begun to do so. Conservatives appear to be leading that charge. But what do you think? What’s the right time? Is there an “acceptable” death toll to balance out a re-opening? COVID-19 & The Presidential Election
How much will the pandemic affect the election? Will it be the dominating topic throughout the debates? Will opinions on Trump’s crisis management and leadership (positive or negative) over-influence voters’ decision? Re-Opening the Economy
Protests around the country demanding that states start to re-open have pushed many governors to do just that. It appears to have become yet another issue that’s divided along political lines - conservatives are generally for it and liberals are against (or at least more hesitant). Some states are still pretty much locked down and others appear almost back to normal with businesses and restaurants now open. But what do you think? What’s the right timeline? Will there be an “acceptable” death rate to balance out a re-opening? Follow us & go to http://StaunchModerates.org to learn more about our Movement!
Joe Biden’s Running Mate
Who is Joe Biden’s best choice for VP? Elizabeth Warren? Is she too progressive? Kamala Harris? Is she too divisive? Amy Klobuchar? Is her track record with people of color too spotty? Is she too radical for the ticket? Who’s left? Could Michelle Obama or Hillary Clinton be sleeper candidates? Tell us what you think and check out StaunchModerates.org to learn more about our movement!
Defunding the Police
Is this the right answer to help eliminate the systemic racism that seems to pervade law enforcement across our country? There must be a moderate solution here, disbanding police departments appears to go too far and not making impactful changes to the status quo certainly won’t go far enough. How do we make the necessary improvements to the social services needed to bolster those marginalized communities that desperately need the help? How will Trump’s recent executive order on police reform influence this debate? Will it help dampen the cry to defund? Minneapolis is already in motion to completely disband their police force and replace it with "a new model of public safety” and Los Angeles just announced allocating $250 million to "invest in jobs, in health, in education, and in healing”, particularly for marginalized communities. $150 million of that will come out of the Los Angeles Police Department budget. Two different approaches, which will work? What are your thoughts? Let us know and check out www.StaunchModerates.org to learn more about our Movement!
Black Lives Matter & The Presidential Election
How much will the current racial strife in our country affect the election? Will the BLM movement’s #WhatMatters2020 campaign influence who ends up in the White House? The campaign focuses on issues concerning racial injustice, police brutality, criminal justice reform, economic injustice, and human rights, access to healthcare, access to quality education, and voting rights and suppression - all major issues demanding to be addressed. Can Trump appease those who feel he’s too tone deaf and prove that he’s capable of bringing about real change? Is Biden now in a better position or will he not be able to convince voters that he’s truly moved beyond his past punitive record on criminal justice? What do you think? The Science & Politics of Social Distancing
When did the concept of social distancing transition from a public health recommendation to a political issue? For months we’ve been told to quarantine and stay at least six feet away from each other, but with the current racial strife that has taken hold of our country, for better or worse social distancing has taken a back seat to freedom of protest. Thousands of people are seen crowded together, marching in anti-racism rallies throughout the US with disregard for current public health guidelines. Democrats seem to ignore the risks of these large public gatherings when it’s in support of anti-racism protesting, but condemn the president for wanting to pack upcoming campaign rallies and the RNC. Republicans have always been more aggressive in their want to re-open the economy and now feel justified in calling for crowded rallies and a packed convention hall. But should we be de-prioritizing public health in the name of free speech – regardless of whether it’s about racial inequalities or politics? What’s the most sensible way forward so that we are not facing a second economic shutdown? Let us know your thoughts & go to www.StaunchModerates.org to learn more about our Movement!
