A Moderate Political Philosophy That Works for Compromise

Greg Simmons

Greg Simmons brings an entrepreneurial perspective to the Staunch Moderates Movement. He was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area where he learned much from his father’s entrepreneurial successes, Greg earned a business degree at the University of Colorado, Boulder. While in school at Boulder, Greg was inspired to make a career in real estate development. He successfully built a portfolio of properties in Boulder, Vail, and Aspen, and also participated in developing and building restaurants and other projects in California.

Greg’s other work on theatrical productions in college inspired him to become a patron of the HBO U.S. Comedy Arts Festival which took place for a decade in Aspen during the turn of the century. Eventually he shifted from real estate development to the entertainment industry all together, developing A$PEN THE SERIES®, a sitcom takeoff on the reality TV genre, along with its companion show within the show Sneak-a-Peak. The process of going through the creative and marketing efforts of A$PEN THE SERIES® for almost two decades lead Greg to the founding of the Staunch Moderates, as its producer, promoter and one of its philosophers. Given the political incorrectness of his A$PEN THE SERIES® and the many considerations involved in developing, financing, producing and distributing a television show both domestically and internationally, it’s from this experience that gave Greg the mindset to birth the Staunch Moderates Movement.

Greg has a grown daughter and his passion takes him to many parts of the world, where he has gained an appreciation of working with differences.

When I teach philosophy and psychology courses, I look for ways to engage students about current societal issues, in addition to teaching the basics.  In our sessions, we air our differences and strive for a consensus about what is true, just as scientists seek the most accurate understanding of each concept.  As a mediator, I teach people to listen more fully to each other and identify areas of agreement, while acknowledging what remains unresolved.  These are usually business associates or parents. 

Over the 25 years I have taught at Colorado Mountain College, I have conducted classes in World Religions, Ethics, Logic, Environmental Ethics, Introduction to Philosophy, the Psychology of Death, Dying and Bereavement, Human Sexuality and Intimate Relationships.  These are just a few of the subjects I have offered.

In my 50 years as a psychotherapist, I have been a Senior Certified Addictions Counselor, a Parenting Coordinator/Decision Maker, a psychological evaluator for the Court, a Guardian ad Litem, and a Child and Family Investigator.  Most of these roles are still part of my practice.

When I’m not working, I hike with our dog, enjoy 4 grown offspring and grandchildren, get out into the community with my wife and read primarily in my fields.

Clemmie Garard Jr. Bio

Clemmie Garard Jr. (“Greg”), also known in hip hop culture as Casanova Ace, is a former rap talent who during his career has performed with or for celebrity legends such as Clint Eastwood, Ronald and Nancy Reagan, Frank Sinatra, Milton Berle, Buddy Hackett, Sydney Poitier and Larry King just to name a few. He has also shared the stage with musical superstars like Grandmaster Flash, The Furious Five, Kurtis Blow, Run DMC, LL Cool J, Ice Cube and Ice-T, as well as with comedians Mike Meyers, Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, Arsenio Hall, Jim Carrey and Andrew Dice Clay. Due to Greg’s relationship with Andrew Dice Clay, he was subsequently discovered by wrestlng titan Vince McMahon in 1993 and was signed to become a hero talent in the WWE known as “Oscar of Men on a Mission” and remains a wresting legend to this day. In recent years Greg  has joined forces with the Staunch Moderates Intellectual Movement  and dropped a 14 track R&B hip hop album entitled, “The First Realm,” and then later a 9 track R&B, hip hop album entitled “Mission Peace.” In 2021 the opening track of The First Realm Album, “Socrates Café,” made it on the ballot at the Grammys for “Best Rap Song.”  Greg has just heard that he and the Staunch Moderates made the ballot again for the Grammys, 2023! Currently, Greg, Casanova Ace, is the main rap star for the Staunch Moderates Intellectual Movement, where their band name is known as , “DJ Staunch & the Bigfoots®. “

Edward Lozzi

Edward P. Lozzi is the Press Secretary for Staunch Moderates®. He formerly worked out of the Press Office of the Whitehouse during the George H. W. Bush Administration under Marlin Fitzwater. Then the Bill Clinton Administration recognized him and kept him on during his administration. He is currently working for the Biden Administration as the Press Secretary for Sim Farrar, one of the two Whitehouse Representatives to the United Nations. Ed has proven to work for both sides of the isle.
