Democrat or Republican? Conservative or Liberal? Isn’t it strange that in a country where you’re offered so many different choices in your day-to-day life, you have only two “realistic” political options? It doesn’t make sense that you can go to the grocery store and have your pick of a dozen different kinds of peanut butter, yet you’re limited to a choice between two very different parties once you enter the voting booth.

Some people are very passionate about their political beliefs, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. However, problems arise when individuals are so entrenched in their ideologies that they completely reject all differing points of view. While it’s okay to have strong convictions, it’s important to always keep an open mind so that you are able to understand all sides of an issue and to always strive to get along.
